Title: MC 21-0-80 little error viewing genres in audio
Post by: swiv3d on May 11, 2016, 09:03:22 pm
Love JRiver MC and have just updated to 21-0-80.

When viewing audio using genres and showing the files in detail view, the name of the file actually contains the artist (which also appears in the artists column). It only shows up if you select Audio, Genres and then select Details in list view after clicking the genre thumbnail. If you select the particular genre from the tree view and then select list details the name column shows the correct details.

Thought I'd let you know.

I'm not sure I follow.

When I look at the stock "Genres" view, I can click "File" on one of the thumbnails and see the files in that genre.

Or I can expand the tree and click a genre there to see the files.

This seems to be working pretty well for me, so I must be missing the point.

Could you explain in more detail?  Thanks.

A picture is worth 1000 words.  Please post a screen shot.

Thanks.

Brian.

Open Audio>Genres>Classical gives image 1
Open Audio> click Genres group gives image 2
then Click the Classical thumbnail gives image 3.

Surely taking two different routes to the same place should give you the same result?

After posting this......
The program has just updated to 20.0.81 and everything is working as it was before the 20.0.80 update.

In your 3rd image, go to where it says "Classical Artists" and click on the down arrow there.  Select List Style> Album Thumbnails .  Try all of the selections for List Style and see which one you like best.  That view is showing you *Albums*.  That's why you see a strange value under Name.  Name, in this context, means Album Name.

My Genres view doesn't do that; I'm guessing you changed that at one time and forgot about it or something.  Just a guess.

Good luck,

Brian.
