Title: FiiO X7 and high-res
Post by: sstyle on May 29, 2016, 03:58:53 am
High! I bought a JRemote on X7 and found that 16/44.1 works well, but 192/24 fox ex - not. Same thing with DSD. It is a bug of X7 or JRemote?

I use JRemote for streaming HD to my Soundblaster E5 and don't have any problems. Do you have the JRemote setting 'transcode audio' turned off?

Sure. But it names "use native format if support" and it enabled. For ex some tracks transcode to mp3, but flac 16/44.1 plays without transcoding. And 24/192 does not begin to play without any errors

everything is ok on iPad and iPhone. 24\192 plays well. The "Neutron app" plays 24\192 (by FTP from the server) without any issue on X7, but JRemote can not. I recorded some video for you:
https://youtu.be/9JRXFs6xmkw - X7 plays 24\192 with Neutron app (by FTP from the server)
https://youtu.be/CJMZWUd1MKE - iPhone plays, X7 not

And photos: http://imgur.com/a/6I97P (here you can see that 44100 plays well, 96000 - not. "Neutron" app on X7 and JRemote on iPhone plays 24\192.)

I curious about the Neutron app because I cannot get past my ISP's router for accessing MC with JRemote...LAN is ok, but not WAN...and accessing my NAS's FTP server might be more straightforward.

How long does it take to access and list your entire library, and how large is your library?

You should forward 21 and 52199 ports from wan to local ip.

Library opens very faster. Also tried from LAN. My library is about 1500 tracks.

I think that android limitation to 44.1khz is a main reason. Neutron, poweramp, etc - transcode tracks to 44.1khz before playing. Native FiiO Music app and HibyMusic only can play high-res without transcode on X7. Also alpha version of poweramp tries to bypass this android limitation and some devices can play srtaight high-res audio
