When trying to start the TV Tuner I get the following error message:
put_Channel failed. Cannot setup TV Tuner. Code: 0X80070057
Playing TV with other programs works fine.

MEDION (7134) WDM Video Capture
works with normal wdm drivers
It used to work fine a few builds ago.

Ok,
I completely reinstalled MC, Now when setting up the TV Tuner it asks me to select a Country and Cable or Antenna.
The country list is empty, so I cannot continue.
Please HELP
-
What is the last build when it worked?
Which country are you in?
When you "completely reinstall MC", did you clear out the registry? Try deleting the TV Settings key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox\TV Settings
(you will lose your custom recording profiles).

- I Live in Belgium
- When I reinstalled I completely removed all registry settings via regedit
- I don't remember exactly the last build it worked but it defenitely worked with build 217
I tried to fill in the country manually in the select box, but it still says "Please select country" when I click OK

There has not been any changes in TV that would affect TV tuner part since build 217. Somehow your Tuner is messed up.
Which channel were you trying to play when you first got the error message? I can think of one situation where that error would occur: when you play a channel number that is out side the range of valid channels - for instance playing channel 99 when you are using antenna instead of cable since over-the-air channels only range from 2 to 69 (at least in North America).
Try looking at the following values under "TV Settings" registry key:
"Country Code" - a DWORD value that should equal to 32 (decimal) or 0x20 (hex) for Belgium.
"Country Name" - a string value, should be Belgium.
"TV Tuner Input Type" - a DWORD value, should be 0 for cable, and 1 for antenna.
If the values are not correct, or do not exist, try change or create them.
-
There was nothing under TV settings in the registry.
I created the values like you told me.
Now it doesn't prompt me anymore for selecting a country, but if I scan now, it only finds Video Composite and Video SVideo and get an error message:
put_Channel failed. Cannot setup TV Tuner. Code: 0X80070057
I'm doing this with ATI Power cinema, and that works fine.

It Works !!!!
I did a system restore to when build 217 was installed and it works again.
I also upgraded to 228 and it still works.
Probably I must have done something wrong between those builds that corrupted my wdm drivers somehow.
(maybe my webcam I installed)
Sorry for the hastle, thanks for your help.

I am glad you found the fix. I can breath a sign of relief now . :D

I found the exact problem when it doesn't work anymore:
The moment I install DirectX 9.0b end-user runtime for Windows XP, it fails to play TV.
When doing a system restore before the installation it works again.
Maybe this can be helpful for you.

Microsoft has acknowledged a bug in DirectX 9.0b. It affects PAL format users of ATI AIW cards and some other cards. See
