Title: Bad Sorting By Date
Post by: Scrith on June 14, 2016, 12:03:21 pm
My albums are out of order even when I take the step to use a full date (e.g. 01/30/1967 vs. just 1967).  For example, under The Doors, the album Strange Days (tagged with a date of 09/25/1967) appears before the self-titled The Doors (tagged with a date of 01/04/1967).   This seems like a basic bug that can be fixed in the next version!  Or am I doing something wrong?

I'm using the "Year - Album" sorting option (under "More (sort groups a-z)" in the "Group By" menu).

Year-album sorts by year, not date

So "the doors" is after "strange days" alphabetically

Sort by a custom expression instead
[date]-[album]

This will use the full date

I think I already had that option with "Sort Inside Groups By" and "Date (oldest first)".  The problem then is that the list isn't very nice (e.g. it shows "The Doors by Doors, The     1967").   How do I get it to show just "The Doors     1967" as the header above each album's list of tracks if I use that option (or the one you told me about, which has the same problem)?
