Fairly recently there have been a couple of changes to the TV guide that to me ruin the looks and detract from the experience. I'm talking about the category colors and the current time line. I wouldn't have either of these enabled if I had a choice. It's made even worse by the choice of colors. The current-time line is drawn with such a high contrasting color that it sticks out like a sore thumb in my all-black Theater View background. And the category colors seem to have been chosen from a pallet of colors appropriate for a saturday morning cartoon. It's jarring. The best possible solution would be to make these colors configurable. This is the perfect kind of thing for a skinning engine or some other kind of configuration file. Short of that, at least there could be options in the Television Options panel, under the Guide heading, to turn these features off. There's really no excuse not to.

Limited resources.

Limited resources.
Which is why the focus should be spent on more important features than this timeline...:)
(Such as comskip markers...)
I like the Category colors though, very useful.

Limited resources.
Why not add options for timeline or category colors?

I will get to those things in due time. They are just not in high priority.
