This appears to be a continuing problem in MC 22, so I thought I'd start a new topic here since some reported that it might not be appearing in MC 22.

Mine seems to work ok on MC22
Although I have deleted all image files of whatever format from my audio hard drives and only kept the ones embedded in the tags
Played music non stop at a party sat night 8 hours+ with Theatre view and slideshow (and minilyrics on top of that) and it did not lock up once

I had the problem in the last couple of versions of 21 and it move right over when I upgraded to 22, so I am also having a problem with this.
-
Did you see this post?

Yup, saw all those when the problem showed up in MC 21. Just wanted to make sure that it was clear it's still present in MC 22.
-
Same here. I also read the other post. I looks like it MC will pick a jpg file in the music folder (if present) if an online lookup doesn't give a result, e.g. the artisk is unknown. I my case it picks up the coverart for the album and displays that as the background.
There were some changes in 21.0.75 and 21.0.81 related to sidecars for music. Could this be related?
I don't really want to have the coverart displayed as the background. Is there another way to avoid that?

I posted in the other thread, but I suppose I could post here as well.
We have some good news. I was able to reproduce and fix this.
So stay tuned for the next build.

I did see the other thread. That is good news. Thanks for sticking with it Matt. Looking forward to the next build.

Please test the build that just posted and let us know:

Thanks.

My problem is gone. It no longer sticks with the cover art, but continues to lookup backgrounds online.

Thanks, Matt. That appears to have fixed the issue. I couldn't help noticing, though, that it seems as if the artist slideshow is drawing images from a much larger pool of sources than it used to. I tested a number of those artists that used to only have 10 to 20 images and there are way more being shown now. Did you change anything else about the slideshow?

Yes. Google image lookup wasn't working in older builds.
In build 22.0.10 (7/15/2016), there was this:
3. Fixed: Google Image lookup wasn't working.

Hi Steve,
I attempted to copy the MC22.exe to the desktop, rename to MC20.exe, manually point to the desktop to enable the minilyrics. I can see the service now under Tools>Services> Interface Plug-in's. The minilyrics works with Windows Media Player but not MC22.
Is there any other trickery you had to do to get it to work?
I wish JRiver had a better way to do this subtitle/lyrics display.
