using Windows 10 anniversary update and when shell extensions are enabled for J Rver my right click start menu is useless. as soon as I disable J River shell extensions it works again.
MC 22.0.14
using ShellExView to enable/disable.

Reboot if you haven't.

i did reboot. whenever the shell extension is enabled the right click start menu doesn't work. disable (reboot) and works.

I have the same issue. Win-X (start power menu) would not work. The menu appears appropriately; however, only a few select commands actually work (search, run, shut down and desktop). Shut off MC shell extensions: everything works perfectly. Turn MC shell extensions back on: doesn't work again.
MC 22.0.12 with Win 10 Anniversary upgrade. Don't remember the problem before updating MC and Win 10 but may not have not noticed.

I have had this issue since installing Windows 10 last year, and disabled the MC shell extension long ago.
Since I have updated to the Anniversary Edition of Windows 10 and JRiver version 22, thought I'd try again. Enabled and rebooted -- the problem still exists.

I've had this problem since first upgrading to windows 10. I solve it by uninstalling and re-installing MC. I've had to repeat this since upgrading to the anniversary update.

It may be related to this Microsoft bug:

Could be be doesn't seem like it. The shell extension problem happens "always" and is 100% instantly repeatable. The start menu problem only happens after longer MC play times.
-
I never used the Win+X-menu much, but I tried now, I can also reproduce this problem. (exactly as amsco15 describes it)
-
Yes, this is easily reproducible as described.

on my system Win10 1493.82, Enable Shell Integration is enabled and no shell integration. I disabled it a while back when it caused problems. confused.
Appdata from many older versions of MC still lurking after uninstalling those.

same thing, no shell extensions. it is checked enabled, nothing.
