MC 22 is Quarantined by Emsisoft anti-malware program, and I am unable to reinstall it - on Windows 10 machine
-
Does the software have a white list / exception function?
Most do.
If not, then you'd probably need to talk to the AV software developer. I doubt that the guys at JRiver will be able to do a whole lot.
-
I tried adding to their whitelist, but it continued to quarantine mc22
-
JRiver has more to it than just one executable. Did you whitelist media server, and any services that run as a result of jriver
-
The media server is not turned on. I restored it at least three times from the quarantine file. I've got a message sent to emsisoft, also. Their license renewal is up in two weeks. I may suggest a 'fix' to this problem prior to renewing with them (assuming, of course, the mc22 does not have malware embedded in it).

I am experiencing similar problem.
Bought the program today but emisoft internet security will not allow the program to run. It claims that the program is a behaviour blocker cryptomalware.
Is there any solution to this problem?
-
What is cryptomalware, by the way?
-
Please report any problems to Emisoft.

Same report here https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=106381.0
OP says he will report the problem to Emsisoft.

FYI: "thank you for contacting the Emsisoft support.
The file MediaCenter220015.exe is safe to install. To solve the issue we have to create a exception for the MediaCenter program folder in our software.
Please open Emsisoft Anti-Malware and go to the section Protection subsection File Guard. Press the button Manage whitelist. In the first column select "Folder". Click in the empty box in the column Item. Click the 3 dots to start the Open folder dialog. Select the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\j river\mediacenter\ and add the folder to the exception list. Press OK to save this exception."

Thanks for your intervention.
The program is working now. I solved the problem another way before I read this response.
1) Restore the file from quarantine.
2)Go into "PROTECTION" tick all the allowed boxes. Then open "Media Center.exe in the appropriate box.
Click "add file".
NB Please note that the program has an automatic white listing, if you click on the quarantine file.
I hope that my explanation is not confusing. I had not recorded these steps.

Hi,
My anti-virus just flagged MC22 as Crypto Malware. Anyone else seeing this?
-
Emisoft?

Thank you for reporting how you solved the problem.
-
Yes, resolved. Thanks.

Thank you for your support. I applied the 'fix' recommended by Emsisoft, and I was able to install MC 22. Cheers!
