Title: MC22 Post Install Tidyup
Post by: Aardvark on August 12, 2016, 02:12:23 am
Having had MC22 installed for several weeks now I decided to uninstall MC21. Used Win 10 Programs & Features Uninstall and all completed okay, however I noticed that the Uninstall routine didn't touch the MC21 folder in

C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 21

Should this have been cleaned up?

Regards, Mike

yeah, it doesn't delete that MC21 folder (and its subfolders). Probably due to  Windows permissions. You can just delete it yourself at any time. It's no longer needed.

I'm not certain because I have mine in a different central location, but...

Isn't the cover art folder in there by default?

Does that get copied over when we upgrade?
You might want to check that situation before deleting that folder...

No, MC22 recreates the same folders as MC21.
So for example, the same Series and Season folders exist in both MC21 and MC22 folders and have the same contents.

The (default settings) Cover Art folder is updated to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\J River\Media Center 22\  when the program is installed.
I do have the "Also Store image in the file's tag" box checked. So if you don't use that setting, your results may vary. I don't know.

When I deleted the old MC21 folder (and subfolders), and same for MC20 when I did the upgrade to 21, I had no problems with any of the cover art.
