Title: MC 22 is crashing [Solved by rebooting]
Post by: Humbledore on August 14, 2016, 08:30:34 am
Hi,

I have been using MC since version 17 and have never experiencing any major problems using it - until now, with version 22 (22.0.15).

Since I installed MC 22 a couple of days ago it crashes almost every time I am using it. What I just noticed is a huge memory consumption compared to MC 21, see attached screenshot.

I don't know if it can have something to do with it, but for curiosity I enabled the new feature 'Memory playback' and tried it out, unfortunately with with poor result (my 4 GB PC started to halt and later on crash) so I disabled it. However, the memory consumption still rises to abnormal levels...

Running MC 21 still works fine and also uses more moderate and normal amounts of memory, see screenshot.

I am using Win 10 x64.

What to do to make MC back on track?

Thanks!

Possibilities:

Bad file.  Turn off auto import.

Missing device.

Antivirus.

Video drivers.

It's normal for memory to be higher during import and audio analysis.

I am not sure what caused this abnormal memory usage and MC to crash, I have never noticed it before. However, after a nights sleep and restarting the PC, MC seems to works fine again. :)
Thanks!
