Title: Focus on Unimportant Fixes
Post by: dallasjustice on August 15, 2016, 09:35:22 pm
Maybe JRiver is a victim of its own success or maybe there's just a slow down in interesting new features. IMO, JRiver's business model seems increasingly focused on unimportant fixes instead of bold new features.  ::)

I moved this from another thread and I'd like to respond to it.

"Fixes" are at least as important to us as features, though we're sometimes accused of the opposite.

"Unimportant" to you may be very important to someone else.

What's "important" to me is that we move as quickly as we can to fix problems and add useful features.

In the last year or so, our work has included these:
I realize that none of these may matter to you.  They do matter to me.  I'm doing the best I can to help steer our work in directions which will have lasting impact for our products and for JRiver.

You may have your own list of essential changes for JRiver Media Center.  We try to pay attention when our customers ask for things, but in the end, we have to build a product that makes sense to us, even if we lose a few customers along the way.

i know what you mean, but its important for all of us i believe to have the stability and the bug freedom!
the features is good to be added, but first its vital to eliminate the ghost bug from the past....

There is a list of features/improvements that JRiver said they were going to do, but have still not appeared.

So in my opinion, I'd rather they work on those items before jumping into the next big thing.
