Title: Surface 4 and Red October HQ
Post by: syndromeofadown on August 19, 2016, 12:29:30 pm
I have a Surface Pro 4 with i5, 4GB ram, and 2736 x 1824 display.
Its JRiver benchmark is 3000.

Testing with a blu-ray rip, playback using red october HQ is jerky and not really watchable.
I have successfully watched a couple dvd rips.
When watching a video my CPU is around 60 percent and my memory is around 80 percent.

I am just looking for some general advice as to if my PC is just under powered or if there are some madvr setting a can change to reduce cpu/memory usage.

Any help is appreciated.

Generally speaking, your GPU is very underpowered.

You can check out the madVR expert guide in the wiki to reduce madVR quality although it is probably much easier just to use RO standard since your GPU is not going to be able to do much.

Perfect. I will use RO Standard.
