I've recently upgraded from MJ to MC, and completely re-imported all my music files. This has worked OK, but I've also imported all the Folder.jpg files which were created when ripping my CDs using Windows Media Player. This means I've got 11978 audio files and 424 images in total. When I use the Album/Name view for images and display thumbnails, I get a "Buffer overrun detected" message.
Any ideas?
Nick

I'm running it on a laptop, connected to my server via wireless LAN. All the files in the library are reference by UNC (ie \\servername\sharename\directory\file). This always worked OK on MJ, and works fine for music files with MC too. I have two burners on the server, but don't often use the burning capabilities of the software as I prefer to listen to music through the laptop connected to my hi-fi. I'll try installing MC on the server too and see if I get the same problem....

OK, I'm now running it on the server too, and I get exactly the same problem. I backed up the library from the laptop and restored it on the server - that's why I use UNC filenames, so I can use the library on multiple PCs. I should probably use media server but that never quite worked with some of my wma files on MJ. Here's the system info for the server:

Starting with an empty library and importing bit-by-bit may pinpoint the problem. It may be one specific file.
Any more details would be great.
Thanks!

A friend of mine has exactly the same problem. Any solutions yet?

Matt, when is your day off?

Maybe the issue is filesnames being too long for Windows. I had this problem myself and it solved lots of issues at the same time.
Try to shorten the very long filenames, you don't lose any tagging information by doing that.
