Gizmo on my android phone doesn't display a chromecast icon.
- I can cast to my chromecast device from the chrome browser running on the windows machine that runs MC 22.0.15.
- I can cast to my chromecast device from the android phone's youtube app.
- I can play any media of my MC bibliothek within Gizmo locally on the mobile phone.
Is there any setting that may be wrong?

Here's the original thread.

Make sure Gizmo is updated.

I use the following versions:
- Chromecast Firmware 1.20.66189
- Media Center 22.0.15
- Gizmo 21.0.1 (I tried the one from the Google Play store as well as the APK installation)
Still now luck, any further ideas?
-
Now I got it working reproducibly, but I don't know if the behaviour is intended:
- If I start Gizmo, it doesn't show the chromecast icon - even if I start and end it several times
- If I start the Youtube app for instance, this app shows the chromecast immediately
- If I start Gizmo now, it still doesn't show the icon
- If I switch back to the Youtube app and start to stream to the chromecast, then the icon suddenly appears in Gizmo as well
- If I disconnect the chromecast inside the Youtube app, then the icon disappears in Gizmo
- If connect again inside the Youtube app, the icon appears in Gizmo immediately
- If I choose to connect in Gizmo now, the icon stays there even I disconnect and end the Youtube app.
Hence it seems I need to start any other app that connects to the chromecast right before starting Gizmo.
Did you experience the same? Is there any setting that I miss?

Try opening the Google Cast app on your Android phone before opening Gizmo.
-
Yes, that works, too.
I'm just wondering what prevents Gizmo from discovering chromecast(s) himself, why is the "help" of other apps necessary?
