Title: Netflix in Theater View
Post by: sandersoft on September 16, 2016, 02:56:13 pm
Hi.
I know that this has probably been answered ad nauseam, but will a working Netflix ever be added back to Theater View?
I understand about the API issues, but it seems to be very redundant to have to also use a Roku, Amazon, or other external hardware to experience a true Home Theater setup?
JRiver makes the best multi-media software in the business, and the TV app is the greatest!
If only you could add Netflix back to Theater View, it would be complete.
Thanks again for making such an excellent product!

Doubtful, as there's no public Netflix API anymore.

It's pretty easy to generate an AutoIt (or whatever) script to run the Netflix app outside of MC and then put a link to the script in Theater View. You will need a mouse or other pointing device as the Netflix app isn't remote friendly, but it works pretty well for us. Assumes you're using Windows of course.

I use the Windows 10 app and it's pretty good. At the same I take advantage of JRiver's WDM driver so that I can process audio with JRiver.
