Title: Player interface - when is tools icon lit?
Post by: john greenwood on September 18, 2016, 08:15:02 am
I looked in the wiki, but could not find an answer.  In the player interface there are three icons together, repeat, shuffle and tools.  I understand repeat and shuffle, but the tools icon lights up in blue sometimes, but not at others.  Right now, I am playing music using the equalizer, but the icon is not lit (except when I mouse over it).  What triggers it to light?

That "blue light" is supposed to indicate that the audio is not being processed and no changes are being made.  So any equalization, sample rate conversion, etc will make the light *not* come on.

Volume changes will not affect the light; meaning it will still light up even if you are doing volume leveling, or adjusting volume internally.

It's sort of an odd feature because it does NOT indicate "no changes"; it's more like "no changes that we think matter".
