Title: ASIO Control Panel
Post by: Miracle1980 on September 24, 2016, 05:24:47 pm
Hallo, I have probably a "noob" question...
I have noticed in JRiver that there is a control panel to setup buffer and latency to normal, fast, rapid and high-speed...
Do these values make any sense for audio playback or not? What do you suggest to use?

I have an high end audio system.

Thanks

Hi,

When it's only for listening to audio files, it doesn't matter that much, just start the buffer low and fast latency, if the music doesn't skip, leave it like that.
If your music starts acting up, make the buffer higher and latency normal. Till the music sounds ok.
What audio card do you use in your HTPC? Does it match your high end audio gear? Do you use HDMI or the analog outputs of your PC audio card?
