Does anyone know about the Gateway network DVD?

It seems like you could use this as an easy way to send music from a laptop to your stereo.
I wonder if this would work with Media Center? I'd like to be able to use MC smartlists etc. to choose what to play and have something like this dvd player receive it and and send it through my stereo.
Does anyone know if this would work or any further info about this device?
