Title: Spectrum Analyzer Does Not Always Show
Post by: Bigguy49 on October 09, 2016, 12:32:04 pm
Spectrum analyzer was showing fine during recent playback but seems to have stopped displaying.
Right-clicking on header, the Show Spectrum Analyzer" is checked.
No clue what the issue is?!

Are you bitstreaming some material? It doesn't show when you bitstream.

Am not streaming.  Playback from PC-based music server running JRMC20.

Further investigation indicates that ALL PCM OK but DSD does not show analyzer.

Bitstreaming is not "streaming". DSD playback is always bitstreamed, and therefore never shows the spectrum analyzer.

Sorry, misread.  Second time my eyes failed me this week.  Usually not the first thing to go.  ;-)

Would like to understand why bitstreaming does not show on the analyzer.

Thanks.

MC would have to convert the 1-bt data in order to compute the spectrum. Bitstreaming sends it directly to the DAC without modification, so MC is unable to do any computations.

Did NOT know that, DJLegba.  Thanks.
