You might try upgrading to the newest version, 8.0.394.

You can find it from the link at http://www.mediajukebox.com

Note: This version has DVD and video removed.

If those are important to you, have a look at Media Center 9.... found here (http://www.musicex.com/mc).

Wile,

Thanks. I'll download the beta version... I think it's kind of odd that the newest version of MJ (not beta) does not handle video, being a jukebox and all... I mean, Windows Media Player does and this player is leagues behind MJ.

But nothing's perfect and MJ is still one of the best.

MJ8 will still play some video formats.  Usually those that WMP and Real can play.

MJ uses the WMP playback engine.  WMP only supports older versions of Quicktime.  Maybe some of your files are newer.

Media Center 9 supports Quicktime directly and supports the current version.

If you want to play DVD with MJ8, you'll have to go back to 8.0.388, the last of the version 8 series to support DVD and TV:

Thank you everyone. The movies I'm trying to play are for the new version of Quicktime Media Center plays them - you are correct. The new MJ is also very good at organizing my files... the Smartlists are very clever.

I'll live without playing DVD on MJ - I have Power DVD  ;D

Last question: what are my payment options for Media Center? I don't have a credit card.  ?
