I have not used MC for image management for a while due to some client/server usability and reliability issues I had in the past. Basically, I was tagging photos from a client and did not discover that there were errors writing tags on the server until some time later when I opened MC on the server. After that, it never tried to write the tags again so the file tags were not in sync with MC. Has there been any consideration given to giving some feedback on the client when something goes wrong on the server? Also, how about automatically creating a playlist of files that did not have tags written properly so that we can do it manually? Or maybe have a field that indicates that tags need to be written so we can create our own Smartlist?

Something needs to be done about this, since this affected my audio tracks too. Replay Gain information was not written to several of my audio tracks which I didn't notice until I brought them into a different program. We need to know about any tag writing problems otherwise there is no point in writing tags to files.

You have to have authentication set on the server for tag changes from the client to be set on the server.

Yes, I know. This was not the problem. We really need some record of files whose tags are out-of-sync with MC.

Nobody else is concerned about file tags being out-of-sync with the library??
