Title: Why some surround sound movies when played on stereo has only surround channel?

Often when I play a movie that's in surround sound (using my 2.1 stereo system), I can only hear the surround channel audio.

In the Output Format options, "channels" are set to 2.1 channels" and "mixing" set to JRSS mixing (recommended). What could be causing this problem?
