Whenever I try to watch anything from my library or television I get a Microsoft visual c++ runtime error. Any idea on how to fix it. All that has changed is I've went from integrated graphics to an amd rx480 and installed the new call of duty.

Try updating the video driver.

Updated to the latest version. Through further testing, this only occurs with Red October HQ. Red October standard plays everything fine.
-
Latest AMD drivers have shown quite a bunch of issues with RO HQ.
Try this:
- In the MC settings go to Options -> Video, make sure its set to RO HQ
- Click on "Open madVR Settings" in the same panel
- In the madVR settings, navigate to "rendering -> general settings" and enable "use Direct3D11 for presentation"
Presumably this can work-around the driver issue.
-
Installing an older driver might also solve it.
There is a madVR thread on the Doom9 forum where you could probably learn more.

Hendriks fix worked. Thanks!
I found http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1767875#post1767875 post #38031 but I don't know where to place that file.
Thanks for the help.

That fix is included in the version we currently use in MC, however the settings change above is still required for some people.

Hendrik's fix worked for me!
In HQ, video was a blank screen and trying to exit caused a crash. I have an AMD video card and a recent update must have caused a conflict with MadVR. I tried the following fix and now Red October HQ works perfectly.
Try this:
- In the MC settings go to Options -> Video, make sure its set to RO HQ
- Click on "Open madVR Settings" in the same panel
- In the madVR settings, navigate to "rendering -> general settings" and enable "use Direct3D11 for presentation"
Thanks!
