Hi there,
I have MC running on two PC's. I want to "route" audio from one PC to the other. Is this possible with MC? If so, how? If not (well, also if yes), what is in general the optimal way regarding reliability and latency?
Thanks.

The wiki has a topic called Media Network . It explains how to do this.

Thanks for the reply. Would you be so kind and send me the correct (or a step-by-step solution) link as I looked into it before posting but obviously did not find anything that helped me out.

Its dead simple
Decide which PC is going to be the Master -- this will be the SERVER end
Goto> Tools>Options > Media Network you will see a checkbox , tick it and then click on Next
Follow the instructions (you will be given a code xyz123 etc as you pass through, make a note of this ) until you get a Finish button. Click Finish
That's the server end set up
Goto the "Slave PC" end (This is the RENDERER in DLNA parlance)
Goto File> Library>Connect to a Remote Library
You will see a dialog asking for an access code , use the one from above click OK and Voila
If you now look in the tree view Audio Video etc you should see the library from the Master PC
Obviously both PC's need to connected to your network either wi fi or hard wire
Hope this helps

Thanks Mike!
Just to be sure: I do not want to play from a different "library" but I want to play sound that is played through MC.
Example: PC1 is in a room1 and plays a movie/plays a game/watches youtube (not in MC) but has no audio device hooked up. PC1 is connected via video cable to an video output device in room2. PC2 is in room2 and is hooked up to an audio system. This audio system should output the audio from PC1.
Is this doable with your solution (I can't try it out now)?

OK. Tried it and it does not do what I want. I can of course play from the library (that I knew) but it doesn't play for example Youtube in a browser on the other PC. Any suggestions?

If the computers are within bluetooth range you can always go that route. Search for mwillems and you'll find a bluetooth setup link in his sig.

Thanks, but before I use bluetooth I try tuneblade or similar. I thought that functionality would be possible within MC though..

I haven't tried it, but since you can direct youtube through MC by selecting WDM as the default sound device in Windows, you might be able to direct playback in MC to the other computer.

Thought so too, but I don't know how or it just does not work.
EDIT: OK, since this is not a functionality in MC, I achieved this with using Tuneaero and Tuneblade. Works good in case anybody has a similar use case and looks for a solution.
