Hi Curtis,

No. It used to be possible back in the MJ8.0 days but the feature has been removed from the library manager in MC9.0.

Assuming you have libs A and B here's a dirty thing you can do :

1/ Switch to library B
2/ Select the node 'Media Library' in the tree (the root node)
3/ Then File/Export Playlist... choose 'MPL Playlist' format. make sure you save the file in a well defined place where you will have only one *.mpl file.
4/ Switch to library A
5/ Then File/Library/Import Media... Navigate to the directory where you saved B.mpl in 'Advanced>>' select only 'Media Playlist (mpl)' format and 'Start search'
6/ You should have a new library with the contents of both A+B libs

One thing though : It will not merge playlists and custom fields. Also don't forget to backup A and B Before !!!

Hope this helps

Christian

Anybody know why this feature was removed?

I'm guessing it has to do with the ability to add new database fields. It was probably a lot easier to manage when the library was static.

What would be the point, if you can't use any of the setup from the other libraries?

The merge libraries function has been requested since the split from 8.0 and nothing has been done about it.  I feel this is a very important function that needs to be put back.

;D Thanks Christian, that worked great. It would be nice to see this documented by MC people, as it's a great "feature" to be able to merge libraries if I change my mind about the organization of my music.
