Could someone please explain how to use a Win10 laptop to run GUI setup for Id? I do not own a monitor with HDMI.
-
Panel gives you some control of settings.

You can also use a virtual desktop program.

Hi, the link is for Id Pi. Also, references "once setup is complete." I'm still trying to properly setup. I don't have experience with virtual desktops.
I have a new Id (NUC), and can't set it up, best I can tell...

Can you get an SSH session?
If so, you can install a remote x server / client.
I use x2go to connect to my linux server via GUI.
You install the server part on the NUC, then the client on your end OS. If you don't have a desktop environment on your NUC, it should install one (but I believe there is already one installed).
Great instructions can be found at http://www.jupiterbroadcasting.com/85377/get-going-with-x2go-las-374/
x2go can be found at http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php

If you have Windows 10, you should be able to use the Remote Desktop Connection app. To do this, you will need the IP address of the Id. The easiest way to access the app is to just use the search box in the task bar (Cortana) and type in "remote." By that point it should be showing the Remote Desktop Connection app at the top. Just run the app, enter the IP address of the Id, then remote connection password to connect remotely. Aside from that, if you have a newer Id model, it should have a VGA port available to use as well.

I didn't think RDC was cross-platform.

RDC is what I usually use to connect to an Id remotely.

There you go :)
