Title: auto rename after changing metadata
Post by: doubleh87 on November 20, 2016, 06:45:04 pm
Hello. I'm new to JRiver.

I've been using iTunes for more than a decade for its simple UI and automatic file renames convention. But as I collect more and more hi res files (DSD, 24/192, etc), I decided to give JRiver a try. And I was wondering if JRiver can handle automatic file name changes and copying files to library folder similar to iTunes's "Keep iTunes media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library".
Now, I am aware that JRiver has a "Rename, Move, and Copy Files" option. What I'm wondering is this:
AFTER files are organized into the library folder I designated, if I change metadata (titles, albums, etc), does it automatically update the files as well? In iTunes, after an initial setup, I never had to look back at the automatic process. If I change artist name, it automatically creates a folder with the artist's name and move the file into there and so on. I'm curious if JRiver can function similarly, or any sort of plugins that do those for you.
