Steve is our clergyman.  Nikolay is our live-in bookie.

I can't describe Matt's job without putting him in harm's way.

Yaobing reports on Matt's activities annually when he vacations in Havana.  Gateley cleans pools there.

Johnt steers in the middle of the night.

I bat cleanup when they are desparate.

Then the ones who really work are JimN, Bob, and Florence.

That's only because you keep them locked in at night.

Have a nice day, JRiver folks

Pictures!  Pictures!

I've always wondered what Matt looks like, to see if his appearance inspires the [COUGH]titles[/COUGH] of the software he creates.   :D

Cmagic gave me a couple bottles of champagne for the team and we were drinking it here.

Left to right: Nikolay Sokratov, Bob Brose, John Thompson, Peter Sohal, John Gateley, and two guys from sales -- Josh and Dan.

The only other two pictured in the other images on the page above are Matt and I.  I'm the handsome one.

I take it back.  JimN is 40 and Steve is 42 on this page:

Jim...

You look alot like Roger Waters in that photo...hmmmm...I'm thinking your one and the same, so I must ask...

Why did you leave Floyd? Why did your music become so political? Are you running for office? How come you stopped singing (well) and have taken up sort of a white man's rap? Will you always have the same R&B backup vocals on future albums that you've had since Final Cut? Shouldn't they take a vacation? Would you consider injecting some good melody and instrumentals back into your works?

I love you man but you need to return to your roots. The first step would be for you and Gilmour to make up. Saying sorry is not that difficult. I regularly tell my mother that I'm sorry I caused her so much pain during childbirth. She usually responds by knocking me down, shouting "NOW YOUR GOING TO FEEL THE PAIN THAT I WENT THROUGH HAVING YOU!!!" and kicks me in the ribs a dozen times or so. Deep down, I know she appreciates my sincerity...and we're good friends. I'm sure it would be the same with Dave, though I'd wear a cup if I were you. Whisper some sweet nothings into his ear and you'll bag him. When you show Nick and Richard that you and Dave are buds again, they'll fall like dominos. With all wounds healed, the rebirth of Floyd could be accompanied by "Kiss & Makeup" album with new material (good album title too...don't you think?). Maybe you could bring Syd in for a couple tracks?

Swallow your pride, Roger. Make this thing happen! :D

Cranking up: 'Granchester Meadows' from 'Ummagumma' by 'Pink Floyd' on Media Center 9.1

10-27

PS: What was the inspiration for Granchester anyways? It's so sad and beautiful :'(

Jim, the heir to the CLiffs Notes dynasty??   :D

You've raised the bar in the family Jim, and that says a lot because Cliff Notes are brillant...  If you have kids, I hope they don't get depressed thinking they have to make a product better than Media Center!

Does your company have any relation to iriver or is that mere coincidence?

I'm in the voice recognition field (research and applied research--mostly applied research these days <sigh>).  Pattern recognition comes with the territory.  Besides, this one was easy.  I'll bet most people here knew what  it said but just didn't bother to respond.  You would have seen it, too, had you thought about it a little longer.  :)

I see a beautiful, homely desktop environment in this pic:

Is the Linux port still in the works? Any details? Qt? Gtk2?
