Title: Newbie Question on Encoding - Apologies
Post by: boboso on July 26, 2003, 11:44:49 am
I wish to rip CDs at a high quality (ie: listening over home theater/music speakers) as well as burning to iPod players.  Suggestions on encoder types...?  I am currently using MP3 at 192kbs but was wondering if another encoder was at the same quality level as this with reduced size?

Thanks!

MP3 VBR High Quality, would be better than MP3 192

The Kbps is higher than 192 and produces a smaller file.

Or...

Custom > --alt-preset standard. You can even change which version of Lame that you use with plugin manager. One in particular is specifically tuned just for this setting.
