Title: PC resolution
Post by: aguyingreene on November 30, 2016, 08:43:03 am
When I close JRiver my screen changes from the default resolution of 3840 x 2160 to 1920 x 1080 every time.  This is more than annoying.  Does anyone have any clue why this is happening?  Nvidia 1080 Windows 10...

Check under Tools>Options>Video>Display Settings. Do you have "automatic change mode" set to ON or Custom? If yes, look at the "Default" setting used for restoring display settings:" Is it set to Desktop or 1080x1920?

Nope.  All that is off.  Still happening.  Anybody else have a suggestion?

Yes it's your video card settings. In Nvidia settings under Adjust Desktop color settings look under "Content Type Reported to the display" and set it to Desktop.  But keep in mind it will revert back to your Display settings and will not change resolution when trying to play a video with a different resolution.

But this should resolve your issue. (I had this and yes annoying when you're in Theater view with certain TVs)
