Title: JRiver 21 (on Toshiba Laptop) to Line Magnetic LM502 dac?

I wonder if anyone knows how to get the JRiver to drive the 'Line Magnetic' LM512 dac (the one with the valve) - the dac registers that a signal is present by indicating SR = 48k but keeps dropping out - and no music

Unfortunately, I'm a novice when it comes to these things but the JRiver 21 program has been driving my Ayre Acoustic QB-9 (the 96k version) for the last couple of years with no difficulty.
