Title: [SOLVED] Problem with views with calculated fields and special characters
Post by: bodiebill on December 17, 2016, 10:32:51 am
Today I noticed (build 22.0.48) that something, which always went well so far, is broken:

I have some views which contain calculated fields.
To keep it simple, just as an example, say that I create a calculated field ArtistCalculated which is calculated to be identical to the usual Artist field.
When I create a view which uses the Artist field and I click any artist, all the results are filtered as they should.
But when I create a view which uses the ArtistCalculated field (with the exact same content) and I click an artist with a special character (such as ö or é) in its name, no results are shown, although I know there are many.

So calculated fields become quite useless when they don't work with special characters.

Anybody has a solution? Or is it something which will be fixed in a next version?

I went back to MC22 vs 22.0.32 and now everything works again as it before: no problems with calculated fields and special characters. That is a relief for now as it is essential in my setup.

Hope this will get fixed in future versions, so that I can upgrade again.

@JRiver team: is this a known error? Any plans to fix it anytime soon?

Could you send me a library backup that shows the issue to matt at jriver dot com?

Send the backup and instructions about what view to look at and what inside the view.

Thanks!
