Paid for and downloaded MediaCenter22Windows-370421.mjr. Double clicking on file does nothing except bring up a window asking me -- How do I want to open the mjr file. There is no app that will open this file. What gives? How do I install this application?

The .mjr file is the license file.
Download Media Center 22 from here: http://www.jriver.com/download.html
After installing MC22, then try opening the .mjr file again to register.

Thank you for the information on how to install MC --- mjr & exe.
Judging from the number of similar posted questions/problem with the mjr file, maybe its time to write clearer download/installation instructions. Rather than having new users initially download the mjr file, leaving them to scratch their heads as to why or how to install MC; why aren't these files downloaded together. Downloading the mjr file first [as is now the case] seems to only confuse some [possibly not all users]. All that is required is one simple box with instructions to download both files, install MC exe first, then install the mjr. Lot less confusing than all the text that you currently have in two separate windows.
Remember: KIS.

Installation instructions are in many places on our site, including the Download Page.

A search would also have helped.

In the majority of cases of people buying MC, this doesn't happen. Why? Because most people don't buy MC without first trying it. So, they first download the free, fully functional, 30 day trial, install that, and test it out. Later, once they decide they want to pay for it, or the trial runs out, they buy and get the MJR file. Installing the MJR is easy because JRiver MC is already installed at that point.
I do agree that this is a slightly confusing point about MC. But for the majority of MC customers, it doesn't appear to be an issue.
I'm glad you got your copy licensed and running. If you have other questions about operation, please post here and we'll try to help you out. :)
Brian.

thank you for the clarification.
I guess I was one of those customers who did not need to initially download the trial as I has seen MC operational on a friends computer, took a test drive, liked what I saw, and then went home and immediately downloaded the program. It's running my on Windows 10 Zenbook just fine. Goodby MediaMonkey.
thx.
