Title: Options - Audio - Audio Device - network streamer

Under Options - Audio - Audio Device, there is an option 'network streamer' which can be selected.
Can anyone explain what this does? And to which kind of setup this could apply?

I also would like to know what this option does as opposed to WASAPI
