Title: iPad JRemote will not shutdown my HTPC
Post by: CaptainSensible on December 27, 2016, 05:15:14 am
Hi
My son has just rebuilt my HTPC for me - new psu, cpu, graphics card, memory, motherboard and from Windows 7 32bit to Windows 10 64bit.
JRemote on my iPad still wakes the pc and drives it as before, but will not shutdown/restart/sleep/hibernate it.
Can anyone help, please?

I think that you need to authenticate any actions that turn off or sleep the PC; and that means that in MC you need to enable authentication...

I found the answer to my problem here but it is not explicitly stated, so for other searchers...

If your iPad JRemote app consistently starts up in the wrong zone, for me it was "This Device" instead of the last one that was chosen when it shut down, the setting that you want is in the JRemote Settings Menu under the "Applications Settings" header.  Turn on "App Follows Server Zone Changes" and the app will look to the server for the correct zone. ;)
