Title: File Tag and Deletion Issues
Post by: mpruner on January 01, 2017, 12:00:24 am
I have spent hours trying to update my library and the time was wasted. All of the duplicate and unwanted audio files I deleted failed to actually delete from the hard drive.
When I updated my library they all came back.
I have checked my folder and file security settings to ensure the proper permissions exist. See capture of message received.

Any ideas?

Are you using MC in a client / server mode?  If so, the server isn't updated unless you have it set to use Authentication (under Media Network).

MC has a setting which allows or denies import of previously deleted files.  There is a search window at the bottom of settings.

There are three kinds of delete.  If you want the files deleted completely, use shift-delete and read carefully.  Check your work after you've done a couple.  The files will be gone.

You could also clear your library and set your auto-import settings, then import again.  You may be importing from a network location that is also a mapped drive.
