Hello,
I have a JRiver 22.0.32 as DLNA server for a SOTM SMS-200 (last version 0.3.0).
I did an update to last version, 22.0.54, and my SMS-200 didn't work anymore. I had no sound, the playback stopped after a couple of seconds.
I reinstalled 22.0.32 and everything is ok now.
What should be the problem?
-
Try rebooting after installing. Try powering everything down and back up.
Antivirus software can cause problems like this.
-
I rebooted everything, the pc server, SMS-200. Without results.
What should be done in antivirus?
-
I did the same steps again, same result. I turned off the firewall, nothing changed

Bump. I don't know for what reasons an update was done and I got a 22.0.54 and it didn't work. And I had to go back to 22.0.32. It is so reproductible, that was the third time for me. Do you investigate, there is something that happens from you? Do you care, or I should move along?

Uninstall your antivirus. It is the only way to be certain that it is not causing the problem.
Read about antivirus problems here in the "Weird Problems" thread in my signature. There is a link near the top.

I don't have antivirus on the server machine

Firewall?
-
I already did this last time, I wrote about the firewall.

Try removing any JRiver firewall settings and see if Windows behaves differently.

I just checked the ChangeLogs, and there was nothing touched in MC functionality concerning DLNA between v32 and now.

With 22.0.32 when I uncheck "Media Center 22" in "Allow programs to comnunicate through Firewall" I have the same simptoms that I see with 22.0.54.
But with 22.0.54 I did all the things I can imagine with the firewall and it doesn't work. Between 32 and 54 there were some changes that makes the windows doesn't accept the connection, even with the firewall off?
-
Long shot - but when you install a new version, don't just double click on the file to install, right click on the MediaCenter.exe file and select "Run as Administrator".
Not sure if this will help with your problem, but it has solved problems for others.

Remove that setting, install build 54 and Windows should ask again.
The problem is the firewall.
-
I did this already, it didn't work.
-
Even with firewall off it doesn't work

I found the problem! I remembered that I saw in 54 that one of the "DLNA Controller Options" disappeared. It was "Play as stream" . In 32 I unchecked this, I installed 54 and now is working. I suppose that because of the check some setting remained there and this setting was recovered by 54 and made it crash. So, there are some changes regarding DLNA between 32 and 54 :-)
