Title: Can the optical output be used as an optical output?

I know the jack has dual purpose as 1/8" analog or optical, but I'm just curious if the device + mc supports digital output?  I'm guessing, no.

Yes you can use the Optical out. It will show up in the device list as IEC985:.....
