Title: "Library Server Could Not Be Registered with JRiver"
Post by: tkozakis on January 15, 2017, 10:38:50 am
I am trying to set up a new Ayon S3 streamer and connect to my media network (PC & JRiver) ... i get an indication above and also that i "need a connection to the Internet and it cannot block outgoing http connections from Media Center". My internet is fully operational. Any suggestions please? THANK YOU.

Get the PC connected to what? Everything is connected. It also says I need an "Access Key". I have no idea what this is.

Read the Media Network topic on our wiki.

When you have a problem like this, try Google.  Searching for JRiver Access Key works.

I have tried going to tools>options>media network and click on Access key .... as I say above in my first email, I get the indications stated. There is no Access key. Thanks.

I have read the Wiki topic ... a few times .... there is no solution given. Yes, the Media Center is turned on.

Are you checking for the Access Key on the Server?  (Not the client)

I have read the Wiki topic ... a few times .... there is no solution given. Yes, the Media Center is turned on.

The question was not whether Media Center is turned on; the question is if MC's Media Server is turned on.

You need to check the three boxes in MCs Network Settings see screenshot below..

I see your screen shot and I believe that all of the boxes that you show are checked on my computer. I'm at the office now, and cant confirm, but I'll check it this evening and advise ... but I'm almost certain all are checked as you illustrate. Thank u.

Here's what I've got: I contacted Ayon Audio in Austria and overnight and thru remote access they entered my computer and made some adjustments on JRiver I did not know about. I also spoke with them at 6 am my time this morning. HOWEVER, they (we) cannot complete the task at hand because, as I've saying, there is NO access key available for my JRiver. Please see the attached screen shot. This is what I've been getting from the first day. Ayon Audio says everything is ready to go IF we can get the Access key. It is my understanding that this key is unique to each computer. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get so that I move forward. I also have an iPad mini to control the Ayon on it's way to me, but I've been told that will not work either without tgis Access Key.  Thank you.

Please read the error message.  Your machine needs access to the Internet and the firewall must be configured correctly to allow JRiver access.

My machine of course, has access to the internet. I would not be here if it did not. This is not the problem. Then perhaps it is the fire wall. How do I fix the fire wall issue? Is it all possible for you to call me for a quick discussion?

We don't do phone support.  It's all on the forum.

You could remove any JRiver settings from your firewall and then Windows should ask when the program starts.

Your firewall support should be available from the vendor.

Did you try to install MC program with "Administrator Rights"?
I would backup Library, then uninstall MC program. Get the latest version (.59) and download it. Then right click on the exe file and select "Run as Administrator". This has helped me out a few times. Now I always install as Administrator (even though I am logged on to the computer as an Administrator).
