After rebooting a Windows 7 PC, JRemote cannot connect to MC22 on that PC even though MC Server has been started. The Windows Startup option is set to: "Run on Windows startup: Media Server (...)".
UAC is enabled on that PC. There is a prompt to allow MC to run, I clicked OK. After that, JRemote connection to it was still refused. The way to make it work is to start the MC GUI itself. During the GUI launch another UAC prompt came up, clicking OK brought up the MC GUI. After that point, JRemote can still connect to MC even after the GUI has been dismissed.
Is this working as designed?

Do you have a prior version of MC on the same PC? If you start a version of MC different than the version that had previously run, then you will get a UAC request. And if you have two versions of MC set to auto start, then you will have a real mess..

MC 20 was installed on that machine but its media server was not running. It has been uninstalled. I will see what happens on the next reboot. Thank you.

With only MC22 installed, the computer with UAC enabled now works normally. JRemote can connect to it as the UAC prompt for the media server does not come up after reboot.
