Title: Audio hiss/noise during video playback
Post by: audioriver on January 22, 2017, 07:10:12 pm
Noticed this today while on headphones. When I open a video file, there's an annoying hiss coming mostly from the right channel. It's subtle but noticeable, especially on silent moments.

Tried a few video formats, 44100 and 48000, with/without sample rate conversions, Direct Sound/WASAPI (exclusive+shared), DSP Studio mostly disabled and toggled a few other options but it's always there.

It does not happen on audio files (in MC) and it does not happen on other players (video/audio).

Using an Asus Xonar DG, onboard audio disabled in BIOS, MC 22.0.59, W10 x64. On the card's software, there's a setting where the output channel configuration is set. When I set it to "2 speakers" (while on headphones), I hear a very similar noise (and even worse). When I set it to "Headphone" it goes silent - which is ideal.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
