Title: JRemote Question
Post by: Efjay on January 26, 2017, 12:18:32 pm
If I make a change to a view for JRemote, in MC, how long before that change is acknowledged in JRemote? And how can I force a reset to speed up when that change is shown?

I believe if you unload MC and then reload, everything will be updated in JRemote.

Agreed, either stop and restart mc, or switch off the media server then back on again.

The issue seems to be that the changes I make to the view don't stick.

My computer remotes into my server at home (I'm trying this from my office.) I edit the view to have Album Artists grouped by letter. Yet each time I make the change and restart the program to update it, the change reverts back to no grouping. Does JRemote and Gizmo not allow for grouping?

Any change I make to views reverts upon the program restarting. Is this because I am loading my library remotely?

File permissions perhaps? Is mc running on linux?

Are you changing the views on an MC client? You have to do it on the server for them to stick.

Sorry just read all this thread. You have to modify the jremote views on the server not the client.
You can't do this remotely.

That worked, thanks.
