Title: How Do I Play a Single Video?

I have a lot of videos that I play with VLC. I simply start VLC and select a video.

How can I do that with MC21? I don't want to have to import all my videos into my library, I just want to start MC, select a video that's on the disk, and play it.

Sure this works: just start mc, navigate to the folder and start the video. Or, easier: right-click on the desired video in the normal windows explorer, choose "play with..." - Mediacenter, done.
