How do I change the mini skin to another? I found some old documentation that said to right click on the mini skin and choose the new skin, but when I right click I don't see that option. I only see File, View and Player.
Going in/out of mini skin works fine. I just can't find how to change the mini skin. I have several skins in the mini directory.
I'm on V22. Thanks.

You might need to install new ones.

Hi:
My experience so far indicates that whatever skin I choose for the Standard View is what will be used for the Mini View.

Jim:
The link you listed indicates that there are no Mini View Skins (see image).

Choose an older version of MC.

Noooo.....
Mini skins are no longer supported. There was a bit of furore over this at the time... (back in few minutes with links)
Here we go... decomissioned almost four years ago now...

Sorry, but mini skinning will not return to v18.
If and when it does return in a later version, it would be with a new skinning engine that works better cross-platform. The old engine was created during the MJ8 days and uses Microsoft Javascript interpreter and COM -- two things we can't be tied to moving forward.
I don't feel strongly about Skin Manager. It's simple enough, but also doesn't offer much more than the 'Skins' menu in my opinion.
November 2012, Matt asked for feedback in regard to mini skins being put out to pasture....

While this got bumped from October 2012 to April 2013...

and then it all went quiet :)

ok. I'll consider this case closed and there is not an option for mini skins.
I always liked the simplicity and minimalism of "lower right" and "lower left". Too bad I can't find a way for a minimalist controller. Maybe there is another way to accomplish what I want another way through another controller or something.
From ElQuia
"Mini Skins are a MUST for unobtrusive music listening while doing ohter work on the PC.- As much as I appreciate some beautifull mega skins, when I am working I want an ELEGANT, fast, practical SMALL bar on the top of one of my screens. In straight english: I want a MINI SKIN. Just a bar with play controls, the same size as the windows border, with a autohide playlist and a semi transparent mode."
This is exactly my requirement also. Maybe there is another way to meet the requirement than mini skins?

If by chance if your running W7 have a look at

Windows 7 Taskbar Plugin....
I love it...but every time you take a update you need to turn it back on....

Thanks. I'm using windows 10. It offers somewhat the same feature, where if I hover over the button on the taskbar, the preview that pops up has player controls (stop, play, forward and back). I think the stock mini works better for me than this.
Maybe there is a small non-intrusive software-based remote control solution?

zak9,
Take a look at this post from Matt:

I believe that CD Art Display might be able to fit (at least some of) your requirements ; instructions for download and installation on the thread referred above.
Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. I installed CD Art Display, but when I ran it, I couldn't respond to a dialog (it was off the screen). I contacted the developer and he said it does not support J River. Not really the question I asked, but sounds like it would be a dead end anyway.
I'm making due with the current mini player half off the bottom edge of the screen. Keeping the top (and more important for me) portion of the mini player within view.
