Title: What is Pane Tagging (F4) within audio?
Post by: aviateur on March 16, 2017, 02:38:54 pm
Hello Mates:

Could someone please explain what pane tagging (F4) is for audio? An example would be great. Thanks.

Cheers,
Lawrence

Go to a Panes view.  Select a track in your library.  Notice that little check boxes have appeared next to every entry in the Panes display up above your track selection.

If you enable Panes Tagging mode, you can check and uncheck those values directly from the Panes. So you can tag Genres, Artists, etc, right in the Panes without having to open the Tagging window on the left.  Note that if you try to click on one of the check boxes before you enable Panes Tagging mode, MC will ask you if you want to turn on Panes Tagging.  If you say yes Panes Tagging mode is engaged and you can click to edit the metadata.

Brian:

Thanks. I get it now. As long as the desired field you wish to change is one of the pane columns, you can instantly tag the the selected track(s) by checking the desired new value in the field without leaving the pane view.

Lawrence
