When i try to watch a live tv. I get this error. "The selected files can not be played"
Recording works. So i don't know what's wrong.
Thanks
-
What version are you using?
-
How did try to watch live TV? In Theater view or Standard view?
-
Media Center 22.0.97
i tried both standard and theater view.
i use zap2it for my XMLTV data.
-
That error message does not seem to come from TV playback. You should play a TV channel in Television view. Select a channel and click Watch (in standard view). Or in Theater view, select a current program in Guide, and press "Watch".
-
Yes, that is what i'm doing. This was working before. So i don't know what changed.
-
Send me a log. yaobing at jriver dot com
-
Something wrong with the log you sent. I can find a "Stop" event in it, but not a "Play". Did you turn on logging before making an attempt to play, and retrieve the log immediately after the attempt?
-
I'll try again and check the file closer before i send it for play and stop.
Steps:
- Opened logging window
- reset the log
- went to television
- clicked on channel 2
- hit watch
- Got the error and hit ok
- Opened logging window
- hit show log
- And saved a txt file i sent
-
Change steps;
8. Click "report Problem" button, note location of zip file created shown in message window. It will be on your Windows Desktop.
9. Send zip file to Yaobing.
-
Sent another. But doesn't really look much different.
I'm going to guess. That this is the lines. From me starting the channel playback.

? ? ?
Weird. Only Stop, no Play! I don't know how to make of this.
Have you tried re-installing MC?
-
Did you make sure "All programs" or "Favorite channels" in the filter box was selected before you selected a channel in the channels box below it?
-
I've tried as many of those combination as i could think of.
I get the same error even if use a client from a remote location.
So i'll try to load a new library. To see if that has any effect.
I reinstalled. But not uninstall and reinstall. I will try installing older versions, tonight.
I just can't imagine what i could have changed to make this happen.
What can i look for in the log? If it was working.
Thanks for your help

So an uninstall fixed it.
I tried a few older versions, with no luck. So then uninstalled and reinstalled .97
And i'm back in actions.
I wish i knew what it was. But glad it's fixed.
Thanks
Scott
