Title: Media Server treated as foreground process
Post by: tvmandan on April 28, 2017, 08:02:36 pm
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature I'd like to see changed.
The Media Server when running in the system tray is treated in Windows as if its a foreground process. This means that media keys on keyboard or when mapped to remote control buttons don't work in programs like Spotify as the keystroke is captured by the Media Server process rather than your intended program, like Spotify for instance.

It also means that when changing volume on a keyboard the Windows volume change overlay does not appear.

Any chance of this behaviour being changed in a future update.

Cheers,
Daniel

You could try the settings for Media Keys in MC.

There is a search window at the bottom of options.
