first post.
MC 21 user 1 year ++
have ripped about 1100 cds to JR.
now finding 1 out of 10 within the last few weeks not recognized, not read correctly, etc
mostly oddball classical cds
itunes works fine and imports with all correct info
so then > itune wav > jr drive location > import > recheck data and location, etc. > convert to FLAC (my default storage) - tedious.
Is this because I have too may files or must I upgrade to JR 22?
I love the power of JR but learning from the wiki scattered over years of development
is like a getting a root canal (if you're a non geek).
I would have upgraded to 22 when it came out but for me its terrifying
since I will 'never' know (really) how JR works. So I am afraid to upgrade
and lose a years++ digitization work. I would pay $50 for an organized,
sequential, clear, book (pdf) that explains JR in order and builds on knowledge
like a text book (alright so I am an old guy). Thank goodness I am only
interested in audio.
Is MC21 no longer supported? I also have a DSP question - where do I go with that?
thanks

I have had similar problems ripping classical CDs using dBpoweramp. In all cases, the problem was due to very long titles/filesnames. Find a way to reduce the filenames, such as, moving the input and output files to the root of the C: drive before ripping. Then move the results wherever you wish.

not sure if these are same - - but I'll remember to check.
thanks again.
