Title: Does MC work with Chromecast Audio?
Post by: StFeder on May 05, 2017, 06:27:11 am
I'm thinking about doing a multiroom setup and was thinking about using googles chromecast audio for that. But I only will if it works with MC. Does anyone know if it does? I couldn't find any info about that.
Thanks!

Google doesn't seem to want PC applications to support sending audio to their Chromecast, as such they don't provide any documentation or an Software Development Kit to do so - so basically, no.
JRemote and Gizmo can probably send to it though, but thats likely not what you are after.

You can use CCA if you install the BubbleUPnP service somewhere on your network. It works well, although the CCA doesn't support gapless playback.

Thanks for saving my money and time :)

Is there something comparable to add multiroom support to a given setup?
