Media Center worked well on my MACBook Pro with my AQ Dragonfly but is not working with my new PS Audio DAC. iTunes does work just fine for any file format for my MACBook PRO through the PS Audio DAC however. The message I get on Media Center when I try to play any file at any bit rate is: "Playback could not be stated on the 'core audio' using the format XXKhz 2ch. This format my not be supported by your hardware . . ."
I have used every permutation I can in DS audio, with no resolution to the problem. What am I missing?

Perhaps a sample rate issue?
What does it support? What rates are your source material?
Without DSP studio enabled, we don't automatically change sample rates.

The NuWave DSD DAC supports sample rates up to 196kHz / 32 bit in PCM and up to 2x rate DSD. I played both 44.1KHz/16 bit and 96KHz/24 bit files from iTunes on the NuWave DAC with no problem. So it does not seem to be either a MAC o DAC hardware problem.

Try opening the Audio MIDI Setup app and setting the output for your DAC to the highest bit-depth and sample rate, then try again.

Where do I find Audio MIDI Setup?

In Mac's Applications folder go to the Utilities folder and it's there.

I've got to add this to my mental checklist for audio issues with Mac. I remember this Audio Midi setting being the key to getting DSD to work on a few DACs also. Interesting.

Yep, it's actually required for some DACs before they work correctly in MC (and is listed on some manufacturer's instructions).
John/Bob, maybe there's a way you guys can add a shortcut to launch the Audio MIDI Setup app in MC's Options > Audio somewhere (button within the Device settings dialog to launch it?), so people can launch it and change the settings if need be? Could be useful for MC23.
